The portable flashes in general are very capable for many applications, I love the idea of being able to take lighting around everywhere and being creative.  The retro strap sounds like cool idea.  I think there will be a retro DSLR phase at some point, with a classic manual camera look like a Pentax K1000 but with a digital sensor.
